Welcome

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 36th Winter Meeting in Organic Chemistry, OKV2023. The meeting will follow established traditions, which means that there will be a mix of plenary lectures presenting cutting-edge chemistry, given by experienced chemists, and short presentations delivered by students, post doc.'s and researchers at the start of their careers.

The Winter Meeting has always been an important event for the organic-chemistry community in Norway, in particular for many young participants, who give their first public scientific presentation outside their home turf at this meeting. Those that will belong to this category at OKV2023 are particularly welcome.

Since the meetings of 2021 and 2022 were cancelled due to the pandemic, I hope everyone is eager to meet at Skeikampen again, and that this meeting will turn out just as successful as the 35 preceding meetings.

Finally, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all our sponsors for financial support of the meeting. This support makes it possible to offer travel grants to Master and PhD students so they can present their work at the winter meeting.
