PFAS have therefore received global attention, and as novel analytical methods have been developed and enabled better detection of PFAS and PFAS metabolites, their pollution of the environment has appeared to be significant. Banning the use of PFAS and clean-up of the environment are two emerging issues in this context. In the lecture, the properties, sources and fate of PFAS will be presented, and work being done to make the analyses better will be highlighted and discussed. In addition, recent maximum levels of specific PFAS in certain foodstuffs set by the European Commission will be highlighted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00f8te 25. oktober 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nForedrag og omvisning av prosjektleder Inger H\u00f8stmark, VilVite. Etter presentasjonen var det guidet omvisning i hele senteret. Bes\u00f8ket resulterte i en artikkel i Kjemi nr. 1 i 2024; den er tilgjengelig p\u00e5\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kjemidigital.no\/dm\/1-2024\/16.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.kjemidigital.no\/dm\/1-2024\/16.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00f8te 24. november 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nForedrag av professor Pascal Dietzel, Universitetet i Bergen, p\u00e5 Kjemisk institutt i Realfagbygget p\u00e5 UiB.<br \/>\nTema:\u00a0<em>The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023<\/em><br \/>\nSammendrag<br \/>\nThe winners were Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Aleksey Yekimov \u201cfor the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots\u201d. Brus and Yekimov developed methods to generate quantum dots, whereas Bawendi revolutionized their chemical production. The lecturer explained their achievements in a way that could be understood even by nonspecialists.
