Hasselforelesningen

Odd Hassel, nobelprisvinner i kjemi i 1969.

Hasselforelesningen kom i stand ved at NKS hovedstyre i 1965 oppnevnte en komitè med direktør Alf Sanengen som formann. Ved bidrag fra industrien samlet komitéen inn et fond på ca. 47.000,- som ble stilt til disposisjon for Universitetet i Oslo for finansiering av en årlig forelesning eller forelesningsserie av innbudte foredragsholdere. Fondet er senere øket slik at det i 1989 var på ca. kr. 100.000,-. I de senere år med lave renter gir ikke fondet nok avkastning til å dekke utgiftene. NKS gir derfor et årlig tilskudd til forelesningsserien.

Forelesningene arrangeres av en komité på fire medlemmer. To medlemmer oppnevnes av Kjemisk institutt, UiO og to av Norsk kjemisk selskap. Medlemmer av komitéen: Professor Ute Krengel, Førsteamanuensis Mohamed Amedjkouh, Førsteamanuensis Ola Nilsen og Professor Einar Uggerud.
